The Alexander Industries Photograph Collection focuses on the staff, activities, and products of the various companies that, over the years, made up Alexander Industries. Special focus is given to the aircraft manufacturing aspect of the company with images of the Bullet, the Cabin Cruiser, the Flyabout and the well-known Eaglerock. Two brothers, Julian Don (J. Don) and Don Miller (Don M.) Alexander started the Alexander Film Company in 1919 in Spokane, Washington. In 1923, the company moved to Englewood, Colorado and expanded their operations to include aircraft manufacturing. The combined effects of an industrial accident and the Great Depression forced the brothers to end their aircraft production activities and refocus their efforts on theatrical advertising and commercials. J. Don died in May 1955 at the age of 70, and Don M. died in 1971 at the age of 76.
