The Kenneth Englert Photograph Collection contains a wide variety of images of the people, structures, and landscape of Colorado Springs, Colorado, the Pikes Peak region, and the Rocky Mountain West. Kenneth Edward Englert was born February 28, 1911 in Lodgepole, Nebraska. He moved to Colorado Springs in the 1920s and served as a Merchant Marine in the South Pacific during World War II. After the war, he returned to Colorado Springs and began a career in retail business. Englert served as President of the Pikes Peak Historical Society for many years during the 1950s and was an active member of the “Ghost Town Club” which met monthly to present papers and discuss local history topics. Englert died August 26, 2002.
