Guy Geckler Burgess was born in Chicago on July 11, 1906. He moved to Colorado Springs in 1946 after serving in the Navy during World War II. In 1948, he and his wife, Lorraine, established Burgess Photography. Specializing in the photography of architecture and interior design in the Pikes Peak region, Guy’s photos appeared in such publications as American Home, Better Homes and Gardens, and Progressive Architecture. Images of several well-known buildings of the United States Air Force Academy also appear in this small collection of forty-two photographs. Guy Burgess died in Colorado Springs on April 12, 1984. Lorraine passed away on April 30, 1996.
