Image Number006-173DateSpring 1976DescriptionBuilt by Lem Gammon in 1905, the Gammon home is located at 10 S. Commercial Street in Ramah. With the Rock Island Railroad coming through town at the turn of the century, Gammon built the first store here and started his own bank. By 1908 he had entered politics and represented El Paso and Teller Counties in the Colorado State Legislature. He built this 12-room house with a large covered porch as a display of his success and the potential future of Ramah, which was short-lived.
