Image Number006-281DateSummer 1976DescriptionWooden doors to a root cellar in the foreground and in the background a Queen Anne-style Victorian two-story wood-frame house with a single-story wing at the rear. The property was first known as the Joe Reynolds or Twin Oaks Ranch with Reynolds building the house in the late 1890s. John Hagen then purchased the ranch which included 1000 acres of which 400 acres were meadow and plow land. This handsome home known as the Reynolds House, the lone survivor of Victorian-era farmhouses in El Paso County and on the Colorado Register of Historic properties, now greets visitors as they enter the main gate to the Western Museum of Mining and Industry near Northgate Road and I-25.
