Image Number006-604DateSpring 1976DescriptionBuilt circa 1904, this cottage is in the Japanese cottage style with a peaked, square roof spreading over a veranda on all sides and diamond-shaped windows on the lower level. Identified as Tokyo (now called the Pines) it is located at 336 Corona Avenue in Glen Park and resembles some of the other buildings designed and built by carpenter John Woodbury, such as the Red Crag, Netherwood and Wenonah cottages. Tokyo, unlike the others, has turned posts supporting the deck instead of natural log posts from the property. Glen Park is an area just south of Palmer Lake that developed as a summer resort populated with rustic, wooden homes and was the site of the Rocky Mountain Chautauqua Assembly.
