Collection NumberMSS 0217CreatorZelley, H.R.DescriptionHenry Ridgeway Zelley was born April 24, 1893 in South Amboy, New Jersey. He served as a Sergeant First Class in the Quartermaster Corps during the First World War. After the war, he returned to New Jersey and worked as a clerk in a chemical production plant. Sometime in the early 1940s he visited Colorado and returned to live here in the mid to late 1940s. He died May 9, 1960 and is buried in the Colorado State Veterans Center at Homelake Cemetery. The Zelley collection consists primarily of landscape photographs taken throughout Colorado, but centered in the Colorado Springs area. It does contain some shots of downtown Colorado Springs taken from the early to mid-1940s to the late 1950s.
