Collection NumberMSS 0023DescriptionRex Long Stevens was born June 1, 1895 in Florissant, Colorado. He lived in Colorado Springs for a short time in 1910 before he moved to Hesperus, Colorado where he was living in 1917 at the outbreak of the First World War. He served with the 136th Infantry Regiment, 34th Division during that war. After the war ended he married Edith J. “Dolly” Crandall, an army nurse, in Denver on May 14, 1919. Rex Stevens then went on to work for the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad and eventually retired in California where in died on February 4, 1983. This collection contains photographs of the Stevens family at Hahn’s Peak, Colorado, Pikes Peak, and other locations within the state.
