A newspaper article in the 21 May 1921 edition of the El Paso County Democrat reported that this memorial tablet for 25 graduates of the high school who died while serving in the military during WWI was scheduled to be unveiled on 28 March 1921, a gift from the Class of 1919. The 25 names listed on the memorial were William Argo, Jack Avery, Almond Bates, Aerle Bunce [typo, should read Merle Bunce], Abe Chayutan, Arthur Conner, Chester Darby, Ralph Davis, Carl Ditmar, Alva Evans, Harry Filson, Lois Harlan, Edgar Hill, Donald Holden, Howard Johnson, Dwight Kinney, Max Klein, Clara Orgren, Frank Stratton, Irving Sylvester, Lee Tillman, Lyle Voorhees, Fred Waiss, Victor Wallin and William Weaver.
