Regional History & Genealogy collections at Pikes Peak Library District are held in the 1905 Carnegie Library connected to the Penrose Library in downtown Colorado Springs. The Regional History collection includes books, maps, manuscripts and archives, photographs, oral histories, films and videos, government documents, pamphlets, periodicals, and other materials related to the history of the Pikes Peak region. The Genealogy collection contains extensive family history research materials, covering the entire United States from Colonial times to the present, including books, periodicals, and access to major genealogical databases.

As part of our mission to preserve and provide access to the historical record, our digital collections include materials that reflect the time and context in which they were created. Some content may include language, images, or perspectives that users may find upsetting or offensive. These materials are presented in their original form to support research, education, and historical understanding.
PPLD does not endorse the perspectives of the authors or publishers represented. PPLD does not modify, edit, or remove articles, photographs, or other items, in our digital collections.
